Music producers, those who bring to life the works that delight our ears and transport us to another world through their melodies. There are many in this industry in every corner of the earth, but today we’ll focus on one in particular, a Puerto Rican who at 16 was already driving a Mercedes and becoming one of the biggest producers in the music industry. This is Marcos Efrain Masis Fernandez, Tainy.

Tainy began his musical career in 2005 when he started producing with the duo “Luny Tunes” on their project: Mas Flow. Over time, he gained recognition and began collaborating with artists who were at the peak of their careers in the genre at that time. He was responsible for creating melodies and rhythms that, even decades later, are still recognized and enjoyed by the vast majority of the Latin community, cementing his status as the best producer in the urban music industry.

His outstanding work led even fellow artists to call him "The Backbone of the Genre." That's how significant Tainy's impact on the industry has been. At just 16 years old, he created a beat by sampling the sound of a telephone for the song "El Telefono" which ultimately became one of the best beats and songs in the genre. Another of his great works was his contribution to "Salgo Pa' La Calle" with that opening riff and melody that transports you to another world—futuristic and energetic—something only this man could have created.

But why is he considered the best producer of all time? Well, Tainy revolutionized the reggaeton industry, defining the contemporary urban sound, and has worked with virtually every major artist in the genre, taking Latin music to a global level. His impact has been generational, as he was the mastermind behind the work of both classic and newer contemporary artists. He's constantly innovating; he doesn't have a "formula that never fails"—he always comes up with something new.
